The Children’s Foundation of Ecuador was set up to support the Mission created by four Sisters of Mercy in Ecuador. Sr. Jeannine Vallières, supported by Sr. Rose Aimée Roy, Sister Marie Thérèse Bourque and Sr Céline Lussier, created a Women’s Center and a daycare center to help single mothers in Pascuales through various services adapted to their needs.

The Ecuador Children’s Foundation (ECF) wishes to honor Sr. Jeannine Vallières for her leadership and dedication to women, by offering a contest that will enable Canadian women to carry out a project at the Center for Women in Ecuador. Pascuales. The ECF will offer the winner the means to carry out its project in the year 2019 thanks to the Prix Jeannine Vallières.

THE PRISE CONSISTS IN:
◾a round-trip airfare
◾A full board
◾ a $ 500 bursary for a period of one month or more between June and December 2019

The fellow is still responsible for the insurance, vaccinations, and a valid passport.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
◾ Being a woman aged 20 and over
◾ Speaks Spanish (enough to understand and understand)
◾ Be available in the year for a month or more
◾Provide a valid passport
◾ Present a project for women
◾Send the application form to prixjeanninevallieres@fee.ong no later than April 1st, 2019

THE PROJECT SHALL:
◾ mobilize a group of women from Pascuales
◾ meet their needs by offering activities / training in one of the following fields: social work, health, psychology, sexology, personal growth, women’s rights advocacy, computer science, crafts, entrepreneurship, arts, sports or others.

WOMEN’S PORTRAIT OF THE CENTER

The majority of women in the Center are single mothers. Many of them left school during high school. The Women’s Center offers them moral support and training to give them skills and a better quality of life. For more information see the situation in Ecuador.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The selection of the fellow will be made by a committee of volunteers who are members of the board of directors of the FEÉ in Montreal and Pascuales. The selection will be made taking into account the following criteria:
◾The project should meet the values of the Mission.
◾The project will have a positive impact on women and, if possible, also on the entire community of Pascuales.
◾The project could ideally continue after the departure of the scholar.
◾The implementation of the project will require no expense or very minimal cost

The candidate’s choice will be finalized in the week of april 14th, 2019
