It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the departure to heaven of two exceptional figures of the International Family of Mercy: Sister Monique Lallier, S.M., and Sr. Rachel Demers, S.M.
Sister Monique Lallier: A Pillar of Mercy
January 27 took on new meaning, Sister Monique Lallier began her heavenly journey. She peacefully left this world at the age of 86. During her 62 years of religious life, she was a prominent figure as Superior General of her community for more than 20 years, dedicated to the mission.
Sister Rachel Demers: A Life of Faith and Dedication
On January 19, we also lost an exceptional soul, Mother Rachel Demers, S.M., at the honorable age of 99. With 72 years of religious life, she has been a source of inspiration to all who have crossed her path.
These two exceptional women touched our lives in a unique way. Their legacy and dedication will continue to inspire our work in Ecuador toward mothers who are heads of family. On behalf of the team at the Children’s Foundation of Ecuador, we pay tribute to Sister Monique Lallier and Sister Rachel Demers. Their light will continue to guide our path to improve the daily lives of Ecuadorian families.
